"Don't travel on any Pakistani airline"

The United Nations has barred its staff from traveling on any Pakistani airline. The decision was made by the United Nations following an investigation into a suspicious license, after which the United Nations allowed its staff to travel to Afghanistan by a registered airline.

It may be recalled that a few months ago, Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan had said in the National Assembly that the licenses of 262 Pakistani pilots were fake.

Following Ghulam Sarwar Khan's statement, the government had issued a list of 262 pilots, including 141 pilots of Pakistan Airlines (PIA), on charges of forged or suspicious licenses.

The European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States have banned PIA flights after the case of Pakistani pilots with suspicious licenses came to light.
