Determination of bird flu virus in poultry farms in Denmark

 

The bird flu virus has been detected on a farm in the village of Lowell, under the Danish peninsula of Weyborg.

According to a report on the Food and Drug Administration's website, the H5N8 virus was detected in the poultry farm on the first day of the year by the State Serum Institute.

The agency said 9,000 animals would be killed to prevent the virus, while other poultry farm owners were urged to remain vigilant against the virus.
