World Turkish Coffee Cultural Day was celebrated today in Washington, DC. The Turkish Cultural Group in the United States began efforts to celebrate the day globally.
Washington Mayor Moriel Bauer thanked the Turkish Coffee Lady Foundation and said that Turkey introduced the best traditions to the United States.
The mayor of Washington said that World Turkish Day would introduce the world to the history of Turkish coffee. This will further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries and give Turkish traditions and culture a new identity in the United States.
President of the Turkish Coffee Lady Foundation J-zem S Gul said that there is a need to raise awareness about Turkish coffee in the world. America is a big market so this special day has started from here. There are 400 million cups of coffee a day in the United States.
He said that the history of Turkish coffee is 500 years old. It has its own unique history.
