Wheat ship catches fire at Karachi port.

A fire that broke out in a wheat ship at Karachi port was brought under control.

According to KPT officials, a small part of the ship caught fire during off-loading of imported wheat at Berth No. 11, which was brought under control after 10 minutes. The fire was caused by a diesel leak. Diesel was being used through drums to use the machinery on board.

KPT officials said that the fire caused by diesel spread immediately but KPT fire tenders put out the fire.

It may be recalled that a private TV channel had earlier claimed that the fire on the imported wheat ship was due to a worker throwing a cigarette, but now the matter has become clear after the statement of KPT officials came to light.
