Deepika Padukone, the highest paid actress in Bollywood, has not only made a name for herself in the Indian film industry, but she has also shown the essence of acting in Hollywood. Deepika recently gave an interview to the Indian news website India Today in which she described the difficulties she faced in the beginning of her career.
The actress said that despite making her debut in Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan, she faced a lot of criticism and trolling after stepping into the Indian film industry.
"After working in the modeling world for a few years, I finally got the chance to come into film and at the age of 19, I did my first film 'Om Shanti Om' which did well at the box office," said Deepika.
"When my first film was released in 2007, where I fell in love with people, my work was criticized by many people. People used to tell me that this is a model, not acting," she said.
"People used to make fun of my accent and a lot was written and said about me which was very painful for me. When you are only 21 years old, such things would definitely affect you," Deepika added.
