The Syrian air force claims to have thwarted Israeli aggression in the Musayyaf area of Hama.
According to a Reuters news agency report, state TV quoted the Syrian army as saying that the air force had repulsed and repulsed an Israeli offensive in the middle of the night.
"At 12:40 a.m., enemy Israel fired missiles from the Lebanese city of Misayaf in the western Syrian city of Hama," the statement said.

Al Jazeera reports that earlier Israeli planes were flying over Lebanon and Beirut residents said that missiles were visible in the air over the city.
According to reports, Israel often violates Lebanon's airspace and has carried out airstrikes on Syria several times since the civil war began in 2011.
Israel has repeatedly acknowledged its actions in Syria but has said that Iran's presence in support of President Bashar al-Assad is a threat to it and that attacks against it will continue.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British aid organization, also reported the operation in Misayaf, saying the attack may have been carried out by Israel.
He said the attack was apparently aimed at government forces and Iranian-backed militants, but did not provide further details.
Earlier on November 18, Israel announced that it was targeting Syrian and Iranian targets and bombed various parts of Syria, killing 10 people, including 3 soldiers.
