Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati has said that if this system continues, the railways will have to be closed like Pakistan Steel Mills.
Azam Swati while addressing a press conference said that as a minister I am saying, we cannot run the railways. If this is the case then the railways will have to be closed like steel mills. We will outsource what we cannot do ourselves, we cannot run the entire railway by ourselves. Azam Swati said that Sheikh Rashid put a lot of things in the pipeline during his tenure. I can't work like them but I will try.
Expressing anger over Azam Swati's statement, the Railway Union leader said that the minister was not aware of the affairs of the department. At present, the railways are not sitting still like steel mills but are making money. There is a shortage of employees in the railways. One man works for forty people.
