What services is Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal doing to fulfill the dream of the Prime Minister of the State of Madina?

 

To make Prime Minister Imran Khan's dream of a state of Madinah a reality, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is providing treatment facilities to the poor of the society including orphans, child labor elimination centers, and women empowerment centers. The establishment of Darul Ehsas for orphans is another step towards an Islamic welfare state.

According to official sources, there are 100 children between the ages of 4 and 6 living in Darul Ehsas centers across the country. Free uniforms, books, and stationery, winter and summer clothing, medical facilities in government hospitals, skills development, free laundry services, prayer facilities, and religious education facilities are being provided. Also, counseling and legal aid are provided to children who are victims of violence and abuse. During the last financial year 2019-20, 1730 new orphans across the country were registered in Darul Ehsas where they are being provided clean food and excellent education and training in a home-like environment. Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is providing assistance to the poor, widows, helpless women, orphans, and the disabled through general assistance, education, medical treatment, and rehabilitation under the Individual Financial Assistance (IFA) program. Helping, providing medical assistance to poor patients with disabilities or major illnesses, empowering the poor financially, providing scholarships to deserving and gifted poor students studying in public sector educational and technical institutions.

During the last financial year, free treatment of 21618 poor patients was made possible for Rs. 2727 million while cataract surgery of 18141 deserving patients was made possible for Rs. 36.28 million. During the last financial year, an amount of Rs.155 million was spent on the maintenance of travel, which benefited 5683 students. So far, 51 children have been provided cochlear implants to enable them to speak and hear for Rs 46.22 million. The International Labor Organization (ILO) conducted a survey in 1996 through the Child Labor Eradication Program which identified 3.3 million children between the ages of five and 14 in Pakistan who were being subjected to forced labor. State intervention was necessary for such issues. The National Policy on Child Labor and the Action Plan on Child Labor focused on the immediate elimination of child labor. Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Schools have been established across the country since 1995 for the rehabilitation of child labor victims. Children between the ages of 5 to 14 are admitted to these centers where they are provided free education, clothing, shoes, and scholarships. There are 159 child labor eradication centers in Punjab, 73 in Sindh, 37 in Sindh, 24 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14 in Balochistan, 11 in Islamabad / Azad Kashmir, and 11 in the Northern Areas. Free education up to the primary level is provided to save children from child labor. At present, 17871 students are benefiting from primary education in Inmarakz. During the year 2019-20, 18519 children were registered in the schools while so far 38059 children have graduated.

During the last financial year, Rs. 712 million was spent on this project. Under the management of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, 155 Women's Empowerment Centers are engaged in empowering women across the country. These schools provide free training to widows, orphans, poor girls in various skills including drafting, cutting, sewing, embroidery, hand, and machine embroidery. Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal plans to set up a vocational craft school in each district. At present, there are 155 such schools out of which 64 are in Punjab, 30 in Sindh, 33 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18 in Balochistan, 11 in Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and Northern Areas. Women and girls belonging to lower-income groups are trained in two shifts.

During the financial year 2019-20, vocational training was provided to 30,000 women for Rs. 638 million. The women graduating from here will be given interest-free loans of up to Rs. 1 lakh with the help of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund so that they can stand on their own feet. Over a period of four years, 62,400 women will be made self-reliant and self-sufficient to lead a dignified and dignified life.
