According to documents available with Urdu News, the number of overseas Pakistani workers registered with the Pakistan Bureau of Immigration is currently 8,060,000.
In light of these figures, the number of Pakistani workers has increased in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as in the United Kingdom, the United States and South Africa.
Saudi Arabia is still the first destination for Pakistani workers with 2.7 million, 14,684 Pakistani workers. The United Arab Emirates is second with 1.6 million Pakistanis, followed by Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, while the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada are third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
The number of Pakistani workers in the UK is 1.175 million, 1 million in the United States and 350,000 in Canada.
Oman is among the top ten countries hosting 244,866, South Africa 200,000, Qatar 140,000, Italy 130,593 and France 120,000 Pakistani workers.
In addition to these countries, Australia, Bahrain, Germany, Kuwait and Spain are among the countries where there are more than one lakh Pakistani workers.
Moldova has the lowest number of Pakistani workers at just five. There are seven Pakistani workers in Cuba, nine in Haiti and Honduras, and 10 in Barbados.
In addition, there are 33 countries where the number of Pakistanis is less than 100.
Officials at the Overseas Pakistanis Ministry said, "Very few Pakistani workers have been able to go abroad this year because of Corona. However, efforts are being made to increase this number to 225,000 by the end of this year, 400,000 next year and To reach 800,000 next year.
To this end, new markets for overseas jobs will be explored through diplomatic efforts. Job opportunities will be created for Pakistani workers in countries like Germany, Japan, Canada, Austria, Romania and Denmark.
Officials say there are currently eight countries for which more than 1,000 Pakistani workers are registered annually. The number is set to increase to 12 in the next one year and to 20 in two to three years.
According to officials, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries with high demand for Pakistani workers will be linked to the Bureau of Immigration's online job portal to ensure greater transparency in the recruitment process.
According to officials, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis has also stepped up efforts to increase the salaries of overseas workers. It has also been decided to enhance the role of Nautech and Toyota in teaching skills to newcomers.
"A number of other initiatives are being taken for this purpose, including the preparation of modern curricula and courses in teaching foreign languages in collaboration with Namal University."

According to officials, a proposal to issue Insaf Health Card for Pakistani workers abroad is also under consideration, while in the next phase, their families will also be included in the scheme.
"In view of the housing needs of Pakistani workers abroad, construction of houses and apartments in OPF schemes in Islamabad and Lahore, as well as two overseas residential sectors through CDA in Islamabad will be started."
