The Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care Punjab has issued orders to immediately limit the staff in all government and private offices to 50% because of the increasing cases of Coronavirus.
In the notification issued in this regard, Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman said that the staff will follow the policy of working from home till January 31.
He said only 50 percent of the staff in the offices should be called in to control the risk of spreading the coronavirus as much as possible.
Capt (retd) Muhammad Usman said that 50 percent of the staff visiting the offices should ensure strict implementation of SOPs issued for prevention of coronavirus.
The Secretary of Primary and Secondary Healthcare stressed that carelessness could accelerate the spread of the coronavirus.
It should be noted that the data of Code 19 of the federal government shows that Punjab has surpassed Sindh and other provinces with the highest number of 2,826 deaths due to the virus.
Punjab ranks first in coronavirus deaths after adding 292 'unclassified deaths' to the province in the national statistics.
On the other hand, health and medical experts of Corona Expert Advisory Group Punjab had warned that the number of deaths during the second wave of the virus in the province is increasing with each passing day.
He said an average of 15 patients were dying of the virus every day in the province, while a large number of patients were admitted to the intensive care units (ICUs) of government hospitals with complaints of difficulty breathing. Deaths could rise.
An audit by the Punjab government had revealed that there were 292 deaths from Code 19 across the province which was not reported between March and mid-November due to various reasons.
Punjab had requested the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) to update the national record by including these 292 deaths.
