China, the world's most populous country, has declared a complete eradication of poverty.
People in the last nine counties of China's Guizhou Province have also been lifted out of poverty, according to Chinese state media.
The Chinese government had vowed to eradicate poverty from the country by 2020, compared to 52 counties a year ago.
Along with population control, China's fight against poverty was also a top priority.
According to Chinese government figures, China has lifted about 850 million people out of poverty over the past few decades, accounting for 70 percent of global poverty reduction.
China's best strategy is to reduce the number of rural poor from 98.9 million in 2012 to 5.5 million in 2019.
