Bharatiya Janata Party leader Zulfiqar Qureshi was killed and Orankabita was injured in an attack in Nandnagri, northeast of the Indian capital New Delhi. According to Kashmir Media Service, police told the media that Zulfiqar Qureshi and his son were walking near their house early yesterday morning when the attackers shot them in the head while their son was hit with a sharp instrument.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Veed Prakash Surya said that both were shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors declared Zulfiqar Qureshi dead while his son was undergoing treatment at the hospital. He further said that both of them were involved in several criminal cases. The statement shows that only those belonging to minorities who have criminal records join the Hindu extremist BJP to save themselves. Ved Prakash said that raids are being carried out to arrest the accused after registering a case.
