An oil tanker has exploded in the Red Sea near the Yemeni border, damaging the ship. According to the International News Agency, an oil tanker has exploded in the coastal region of Shaqiq in Saudi Arabia. The Maltese flag is flown on a Greek-operated MT Agri.
The shipping company told the media that the ship was still floating at sea with Saudi officials on board, but the Saudi authorities did not immediately deny or confirm the incident.
The company claims that the plane was hit from a distance of one meter, which caused a malfunction in the tanker. Fortunately, the staff is safe. The holes in the plane have been filled by the blast and it is heading towards the destination.
A British security company, Embry, reported the blast and claimed that the plane had been hit by a landmine. The destination of the ship, which started its journey from the Netherlands, was Shaqiq's steam power plant.
It should be noted that the Houthi rebels had fired rockets at the facilities of the oil company Aramco in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as a result of which a tanker broke down and a severe fire broke out in it.
