Bengali film superstar Sumitra Chatterjee has died after a long illness at the age of 85. She was admitted to hospital last month after contracting the corona virus.
According to Indian media, Sumatra Chatterjee contracted the corona virus on October 16, after which she was admitted to Bellevue Clinic Hospital. He underwent plasma therapy at the hospital but his hemoglobin dropped to dangerous levels, after which a 10-member medical board began treating him, but he also had several other illnesses, including corona, which prevented him from recovering.
Sumatra Chatterjee started her artistic career in 1959 with the film 'Upper Sansar'. He was awarded Dada Sahib Phalke, the highest award of Indian cinema in 2012. His last film came in 2019.
