India, news channel editor-in-chief arrested in old case

 

Indian police have arrested the editor-in-chief of a news channel in an old case. Ruling party ministers have also condemned Goswami's arrest.

The Maharashtra Home Minister said in a statement that no one is above the law. A colleague of the well-known journalist alleged that at the time of his arrest, the police pulled his hair and misbehaved. Swamy was not even allowed to drink water.

According to details, well-known journalist and editor of Republic TV channel Arnab Goswami was arrested in Mumbai.

According to Republic TV, the Mumbai police reached his house and took him away in a police van, but the authorities did not elaborate on the reasons or the allegations under which the arrest was made.
