The International Football Association (FIFA) has banned Ahmed Ahmed, head of the Confederation of African Football, for five years for financial irregularities.
Ahmed Ahmed, from Madagascar, took over as head of the confederation in March 2017, but his re-election in 2021 is in jeopardy after FIFA banned corruption.
FIFA said in a statement that "Ahmed Ahmed violated his duties honestly, received gifts and other benefits, misused funds and abused his powers as head of the confederation." ۔
Ahmed was also fined لاکھ 220,000 on the basis of spending money on the company to pay for Umrah and links to a sports goods company, the statement said.
The head of African football can appeal the decision to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport.
According to the report, 60-year-old Ahmed Ahmed had recovered from Corona a few days ago and assumed his responsibilities.
Ahmed was also elected FIFA vice president after being elected head of the African Confederation.
He denied the allegations made by FIFA.
Following the announcement of Ahmed's ban, the African Confederation said in a statement that Konstantin Omari would serve as acting head, which could be extended indefinitely.
The statement added that the decision was made following a decision by FIFA against Ahmed, under which he could no longer fulfill his responsibilities.
It should be noted that Constant Omari from Congo was elected Ahmed Ahmed's deputy in July 2019. Omari is also the president of the Congo Football Federation and a member of the FIFA Council.
According to the report, the former president of the Confederation of African Football had accused Ahmed of corruption in April 2019 and informed FIFA that in addition to bribing the directors, Ahmed used the federation's funds and sexually exploited several officials. ۔
He was later arrested during a FIFA meeting in Paris and released a day later.
