Former Special Assistant for Health Dr Zafar Mirza has called for early winter break in educational institutions to curb the spread of corona. "We are not saying that schools should be closed indefinitely, only the recommendations of the NCOC should be followed and the winter holidays should be extended a little earlier."
Speaking on a private TV program, he said that the NCOC had made sound recommendations to curb the spread of corona. These recommendations included going to crowded places, masks, schools and gatherings. We also have the resources and expertise to deal with Corona. I would like to point out two things, the first of which is that we must immediately implement the recommendations of the NCOC, these recommendations must be implemented wholeheartedly. ۔
Corona has been growing for the last ten weeks but we are slow, I think there is a lack of communication, another word is lack of communication. By lack of communication, I mean that Asad Omar himself has said in the last NCOC meeting that the provinces do not agree with the recommendations we have made, therefore we cannot implement them in the whole country. There was a time when people who did not follow SOPs in transport, shops, factories were being fined, but now they are not visible.
He said that when the Prime Minister himself started wearing masks, it had a big impact that people all over the country were wearing masks. If we do not stop them by taking immediate steps, we will have to lock down completely like Europe. Dr. Zafar Mirza said that not closing schools will make a difference, because cases have started coming in schools. We are not saying that schools should be closed indefinitely, only the recommendations of the NCOC should be followed and the winter holidays should be extended a little earlier.
