Young
and first healthy people suffering from COVID 19 are still suffering from
various symptoms and multiple organ damage four months after recovering from
the epidemic.
This
was revealed in a new medical study.
The
term 'long Covid' is still used for patients who experience various symptoms,
even months after the initial illness.
It
is estimated that more than 60,000 people in the UK suffer from various
symptoms of long cohort, such as fatigue, mental fog, difficulty breathing and
physical discomfort.
The
new study analyzes 50 people who did not suffer from any disease before young
and Covid.
The
research will analyze the effects of Covid 19 on the organs of these
individuals on a long-term basis, using MRI scans, blood tests, physical
examinations and online questionnaires.
Preliminary
data from the first 200 patients indicated that about 70% of them had one or
more organs affected, including the heart, lungs, liver and bladder, four
months after the initial illness.
The
good news is that the change in actions is suspended, but it is also true that
actions have been somewhat negatively affected and 25 per cent of people have 2
or more. More organs have been affected.
"This
is important because we need to know if the process of negative changes in
organ function progresses or improves, or if certain individuals cannot face a
more serious situation,"
In
some cases, researchers also found differences in people's long-term symptoms
and the location of affected organs, for example, people with problems with
heart or lung function had difficulty breathing while the liver Or impaired
bubble function was found to be related to gastrointestinal symptoms.
However,
research has not shown that organ function disorders are part of Longwood's
symptoms, and the results have not yet been published in any medical journal.
Professor
Amitava Banerjee warns that these patients were not scanned before they
contracted Covid 19, so some of them may already have organ problems, but given
factors such as good health and youth in the past. This seems very difficult.
The
average age of the participants in this study was 44 years.
Monitoring
of these individuals will continue and researchers will also scan people who
are not infected with Covid 19 or have experienced other viral infections such
as the flu.
Preliminary
data from another study of 58 patients treated at the hospital for Covid 19
showed similar results.
The
study found that 60 to 60 percent of patients had abnormal changes in lung function
2 to 3 months after the onset of the disease, 29 percent had kidney, 26 percent
heart and 10 percent liver problems, while brain tissue Changes in parts were
also discovered.
Danny
Altman, a professor of immunology at Imperial College London, said:
"Anyone around the world who has a long Covid should take it seriously and
understand what is going on in the organs, so that solid evidence can be
gathered."
"I
think these findings are the first step in a long journey, which has revealed
some of the symptoms of these patients and will gradually lead to a cure for
them," he said.
The
new findings also suggest that more partnerships are needed between medical
professionals.
In
recent days, experts from many countries have released the results of their
research work on long Covid.
A
study by the Michigan Health System found that people who overcome the disease
may still have medical and financial problems for months to come.
The
University of Michigan Health System study looked at 488 patients with Covid 19
who had been discharged after being treated in Michigan hospitals.
Those
discharged from the hospital between March 16 and July 1 were examined two
months later.
According
to research published in the medical journal Journal of Internal Medicine,
one-third of people reported new or worse symptoms with a medical problem, such
as a cough, and persistent loss of sense of smell or taste.
About
50 percent said they were 'emotionally affected' by the disease, while 28
percent went to mental health centers.
36%
reported minor financial difficulties while being treated in the hospital,
while 40% lost their jobs or became too weak to return to work.
The
researchers said that for most people who have the disease, their ability to
restore normal activities is impaired by physical and emotional symptoms, while
financial losses are also common.
He
said that the data confirms that the effect of Covid 19 does not end even after
discharge from the hospital.
A
study this week found that more than half of healthy patients with Covid 19
experience persistent or constant fatigue after 10 weeks of initial illness.
The
study, published in the medical journal Plus One, was conducted by researchers
at Trinity College, Ireland.
The
study said that although much has been said about the Covid, little is known
about its long-term effects.
