US media have claimed that Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, also known as Abu Muhammad al-Masri, was killed in Iran. According to Mail Online, the American media reported that Abu Muhammad al-Masri was shot dead by Israeli agents in Iran. Al-Masri was targeted. U.S. federal officials also announced a 10 million reward for information leading to the capture of Al-Masri.
Al-Masri, al-Qa'eda's second-in-command, was shot dead on a street in Tehran in August, US media reported, citing intelligence sources. He was shot by two Israeli agents on a motorcycle. Abu Muhammad al-Masri and his 27-year-old widowed daughter, Maryam, were also killed in the incident, which US officials say was also trained by her father to run an extremist organization. Maryam was the wife of Hamza bin Laden, the son of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Hamza bin Laden was killed by US forces in Afghanistan on September 14, 2019. Abu Muhammad al-Masri was accused of planning attacks on two US embassies in the African country of Tanzania and Kenya in 1998, in which 224 people were killed.
