Treason case registered against Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz in Lahore

 
A case has been registered in Shahdara police station against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other party leaders for inciting mutiny. The case was registered on October 1 on the complaint of a citizen named Badar Rashid.

According to local media, the text of the FIR filed under the criminal conspiracy provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code said that Nawaz Sharif spoke against the ruling circles, incited the people to revolt. The text further said that Nawaz Sharif is a convicted criminal under NAB rules, incited rebellion against institutions through provocative speeches while national laws do not allow such speeches and actions of convicted criminals.
