Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued instructions to abolish unnecessary holding taxes. According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to introduce technology in the Federal Board of Revenue and tax system and said that special attention should be paid to the elimination of unnecessary holding taxes. According to media sources, a meeting of the Revenue Department was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which a briefing was given on reforms in FBR and tax system. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Revenue Dr Waqar Masood gave a detailed briefing to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that increasing the tax base was of key importance for stabilizing the country's economy, adding that modernization of the FBR was part of the government's priorities.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed that technology should be introduced in the FBR and tax system and the Revenue Department should pay special attention to the elimination of unnecessary holding taxes.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the system for taxpayers, especially the system of returns, should be simplified. The promotion of small and medium scale industries is the top priority of the government, with special focus on creating facilities for traders. Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued special instructions to Special Assistant to Revenue Dr Waqar Masood to try to eliminate unnecessary holding tax as soon as possible.
Remember that the government is trying to introduce technology in all sectors. Earlier, the government had also directed the excise department to facilitate online token tax payment. After which the excise department has also introduced an application which will enable payment of vehicle token tax online.
