The Economic Co-ordination Committee approved the extension of the power purchase agreement with Iran.
According to details, a meeting of the ECC was held under the chairmanship of Finance Advisor Hafeez Sheikh in which approval was given to supply additional gas from Rehman Gas Field to Sui Southern Gas Company which provided additional 38 cubic million cubic feet of gas to SSGCL. The ECC also approved the extension of the power purchase agreement with Iran, under which the agreement to purchase 104 megawatts of electricity from Iran has been extended for one year. Approved in principle technical grant of Rs. 109 million and tax exemption for telecom sector.
