My father sexually abuses me

A 17-year-old girl in India has accused her 45-year-old Indian Army father of sexually abusing her for the past 13 years under the pretext of punishing her for wrongdoing.

The young girl, who lives in Bhopal, said that whenever she made a mistake, her father made her stand naked on the roof, touched her inappropriately and tortured her with his belt. The teenager had earlier verbally reported the matter to the police, after which the accused was warned. According to the Times of India, when he was leaving home to join duty, he allegedly told the girl that after coming home on the next holiday, he would do something to her so that she would tell someone. Fearing her father's threat, the girl sent an e-mail to Bhopal Police, Delhi, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) and the Chief Minister's Helpline on September 28 informing them of the sexual violence.
