PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has questioned whether the C-Pak authorities have come down from the sky and they will be given immunity from NAB and FIA.
There are reports that a new law is being introduced by the government, after which the C-Pack Authority will get immunity from the NAB and FIA.
Reacting to the news, Maryam Nawaz said in a tweet, "Why would there be an exemption? Have you come down from heaven What are the crimes that need immunity to cover up? '
It may be recalled that the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases has approved the draft of the new law under which it has been decided to reduce the powers of the Chairman C-Pac Authority in the new law. According to the document, it has also been decided to remove the post of Chief Executive Officer of C-Pac Authority while C-Pac Authority will report to the Prime Minister instead of the Ministry of Planning and Development.
The document recommends abolishing the voting power of the chairman for establishing a decisive role in the C-Pac Authority and the authority to establish a C-Pac Business Council. The C-Pac Business Council will be formed and the notification will be issued by the Board of Investment.
