Rahul Gandhi was on his way to visit the family of a girl who was gang-raped in Hathras.

It may be recalled that a Dalit girl who was gang-raped by extremist Hindus in India died in a hospital two days ago.

A 19-year-old girl was raped and tortured on September 14 in Hathras district, 62 km from the capital.

The girl's tongue was cut off and her spine was broken.

The death of the girl has sparked a wave of grief and anger in India and the people are demanding the Modi government to provide justice to the family.

Hundreds of citizens gathered outside the hospital to protest against the police and the government as soon as the news of the gang-raped girl's death broke.

The girl was baton charged by police to disperse demonstrators protesting the oppression with.

According to international media, police have arrested four people who are being investigated for gang-raping a 19-year-old girl.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had said that he would not allow the facts to be concealed. Those responsible for this atrocity will be exposed in any case.
