Israel and the United Arab Emirates have agreed on a bilateral visa-free travel agreement. Following this development, Emirati will now be the first citizens in the Arab world who will not need a permit to enter Israel. The agreement came at a time when a delegation from Abu Dhabi has regularly arrived in Tel Aviv. Countries have signed four agreements, one of which deals with visa exemption for citizens.
On the occasion, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, wearing a face mask, met with the UAE delegation and described the visit as golden for peace. On the other hand, the Palestinians condemned the agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. "Today we are shaping history in a way that will last for generations," he said.
Netanyahu announced that free movement of people would benefit the Israeli and Emirati economies.
