Police in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, have arrested suspects on motorcycles who robbed shops and snatched women's purses.
A local gang of four Saudi youths has been arrested for shoplifting and snatching women's purses, Riyadh police assistant spokesman Khalid al-Kardis said in a statement. Involved in several robberies.
According to the Saudi news agency SPA, a spokesman for the police said that local youths were robbing shops. Workers would break into shopping malls and snatch cash and flee.
They also snatched purses from passers-by and fled on motorcycles.
The spokesman said that the robbers, while recording the statement after the arrest, not only confessed to the incident but also gave details of the incident.
He said that all the four were taken into custody and handed over to the public prosecution.
