In his Twitter message after the arrest of Abid Malhi, the main accused in the motorway case, Senator Shibli Faraz said that the main characters of the tragic incident of desecration of a woman on the motorway would be severely punished according to law. The arrest of accused Abid is a testament to the professionalism and hard work of the Punjab Police. Protecting the lives and property of the people is our primary duty. Today's arrest is an important step in fulfilling this responsibility.
It may be recalled that CIA police on Monday evening arrested Abid Malhi, the main accused in the motorway case, from his father's house in Manga Mandi. The accused has been shifted to Lahore and investigation is underway. The accused has confessed to the crime during interrogation, however, he will also undergo polygraph and DNA test.
