In his message on Twitter, IG Punjab said that rapist Abid Malhi has been arrested due to the special grace of Allah and tireless efforts of Punjab Police. We fulfilled the promise we made to the victim, our sisters, the citizens of Pakistan and the media.
It may be recalled that CIA police on Monday evening arrested Abid Malhi, the main accused in the motorway case, from his father's house in Manga Mandi. The accused has been shifted to Lahore and investigation is underway. The accused has confessed to the crime during interrogation, however, he will also undergo polygraph and DNA test.
Today by the grace of Allah Almighty and due to the tireless efforts of the officers of Punjab Police, we were able to arrest Abid Malhi, the rapist. We were able to fulfil the promise we made with the victim, our sisters, citizens of Pakistan and the media.
