President Recep Tayyab Erdogan has threatened neighboring Greece with dire consequences following a dispute over Turkey's oil and gas exploration mission in the eastern Mediterranean. He called on Greece to negotiate with Ankara over the underwater natural resource dispute or face a catastrophic war. Speaking at the inauguration of the medical city in Istanbul, he said the Turkish government and people Are ready for the situation and their consequences.

It is believed that this threatening statement was made by the Turkish President at a time when Ankara on the other hand has sent tanks to the Greek border. A convoy of 40 tanks has been sent to the border area with Greece.
