Thousands of Pakistanis working in Saudi Arabia fear unemployment

The stay of the majority of Pakistanis working in Saudi Arabia will expire (tomorrow) on September 30, but thousands of Pakistanis are feared to be unemployed due to non-receipt of PIA tickets.

Thousands of Pakistanis from Saudi Arabia and later stranded in Pakistan due to the corona virus are waiting to get PI tickets, but they are not getting them, so they have to return to work in Saudi Arabia before their stay expires. Hopes of arrival have been dashed. There are queues of Pakistani workers working in Saudi Arabia outside PIA offices in different cities of the country who look very disappointed with the situation. He said that a ticket of Rs 45,000 is not even Rs 200,000. If I can't go back to work, will I get a job in the country? What will happen to families if they become unemployed?

On the other hand, the spokesperson of the national airlines said that PIA has flown more than 27,000 Pakistanis to Saudi Arabia. Earlier, the PIA administration and the aviation minister had asked the foreign ministry to either talk to Saudi officials about allowing more flights or extend their stay. Passengers whose stay is coming to an end should not face any difficulties regarding their jobs.
