According to Lebanese media reports, the fire broke out in a shopping center in Beirut built by British architect Zaha Hadid.
A large number of fire brigade vehicles and ambulances rushed to the spot after the fire broke out. Volunteers launched a rescue operation on an emergency basis.
Rumors were circulating after the blaze that a shopping center had also caught fire after the blast, which the government rejected and appealed to the public to remain calm, saying the situation was under control.
No casualties were reported in the incident, but the fire was so severe that it almost affected the building. According to the report, the said shopping center is close to the port where the fire broke out after a terrible explosion.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained while it is reported that firefighters have completed the firefighting work after which the cooling process is underway.
It is also learned that no casualties were reported as the building was under construction for many years.
