Sensitive data leak case, showcase issued to 10 SECP officers

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP) has issued show cause notices to 10 officers for leaking sensitive data.

According to a private TV report, showcause notices have been issued to 10 SECP officers following an inquiry report into the sensitive data leak. A written reply has been sought from the officers in the showcase by September 29, sources said. The Commission of Inquiry will hear all the officers after receiving a written reply. According to sources, formal action will be taken after taking a stand from the SECP officers.

It may be recalled that earlier, the Chairman SECP had met Prime Minister Imran Khan today after sensitive data was leaked from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He also informed the Prime Minister about the data leak inquiry. It may be recalled that the ministers in the federal cabinet had raised the issue of data leakage of the SECP. The ministers advised the Prime Minister to make the data leak inquiry report public.
