PTI leader Tahir Iqbal killed in assassination attempt

 PTI Hazara Division Deputy General Secretary Tahir Iqbal was killed in the assassination attempt.

According to ARY News, PTI Deputy General Secretary Tahir Iqbal was assassinated in Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province as a result of which he was killed.

Police say the assailants targeted Tahir Iqbal's car as he was returning from a funeral, injuring two people.

Tahir Iqbal, who was killed in the firing, and the injured were shifted to a local hospital where one of the injured succumbed to his injuries.

According to ARY News correspondent, Tahir Iqbal has also been a member of Haripur District Council.

Sources said that the police visited the spot and collected evidence while progress would be made in the investigation after the post-mortem report.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan took notice of the incident and demanded a report from the IG. Mehmood Khan said that the killers should be arrested soon and brought to justice.

Expressing sympathy to the family of the deceased, the Chief Minister said that the services of the late Tahir Iqbal would always be remembered and all steps would be taken to arrest the killers soon.
