The New Year's Eve fireworks display in London has been canceled due to increasing cases of Corona.
The Arab website Urdu News quoted British media as saying that London Mayor Sadiq Khan had confirmed that members of the London Assembly had canceled a traditional fireworks display on New Year's Eve. He said that this year's demonstration would not be due to Corona cases.
According to the report, the mayor said that during the session on Friday, the assembly approved the budget cuts due to Corona.
He said the budget cuts meant that traditional fireworks, which have been held continuously since 1999, would not be held this year.
1.2 million was set aside for fireworks in August this year, but it came in a -2 20.1 million savings campaign for 2020-21.
According to the report, the British Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that we want to avoid lockdown again but we are ready to implement it if necessary.
"Unfortunately, we are seeing the number of patients admitted to hospitals doubling every eight days, so we need to take some action," Hancock said.
