At least 13 people have been killed and five others injured in a fire that broke out near Nooriabad on the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway.
According to fire brigade officials, the fire broke out in a passenger van 70km from Karachi with 20 to 22 people on board.
According to the Motorway Police, the passenger van was coming from Hyderabad to Karachi. A 1-year-old girl miraculously survived the accident while the driver of the van was also safe.
According to the Motorway Police, nine people were burnt to death immediately after the accident while several injured passengers were evacuated, out of which four more died later.
Motorway police engaged in rescue operations at the scene had shifted more than eight injured passengers to Nooriabad Hospital.
On the other hand, according to rescue officials, the burning passenger van was coming from Hyderabad to Karachi when it met with an accident near Nooriabad.
According to rescue officials, rescue teams were dispatched to the scene as soon as the accident was reported.
