Unique competitions of the annual All Pakistan Open Bull Car Race were held at Pir Mahal, with Fakhr Toba and Chhina winning first place.
Unique competitions of the annual All Pakistan Open Bull Car Race Tournament were held near Pir Mahal Bypass in which around 200 bulls of high breed from all over the country and their owners participated. There were a large number of spectators to watch these competitions. It was a time of celebration in the area. People kept dancing to the beat of drums.
The special guests of the final race were PTI District Leader Mian Imtiaz Ahmed, Provincial President Bullock Cart Association Seth Muhammad Botha and Chaudhry Asim Javed. In the final, Abdul Salam Jutt and Chaudhry Sarfraz's bull pair Fakhr Toba and Chhina bagged the first position while Chaudhry Maqsood Ahmed and Fauji Abbas' bull pair Lakha and Katubari bagged the second position. Rana Mursalin and Basharat Awan's bull pair Neela and Lakha secured the third position.
The first place pair of bulls was given Rs 40,000 cash, second place bulls Rs 30,000 cash and third place bulls Rs 20,000 cash. Among the successful bull owners, Mian Amitaz Ahmed and others distributed cash prizes and trophies.
Mian Sarfraz, the owner of the bull, said that he has taken the first position for the sixth time in a row in Punjab. My bull participates in these competitions every year as it is a pure indigenous game of landlords. Our ancestors migrated from India and came here and they also used to take part in bullock cart competitions there.
About 200 bulls from all over Punjab participated in the tournament. The owners said that they would continue to hold such tournaments in the future as well.
