As part of Prime Minister Imran Khan's agenda to rid institutions of corruption, the FIA arrested him on charges of embezzling crores of rupees in pension funds from the main state broadcaster Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC).
The agency confirmed that the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation had completed a departmental inquiry into allegations of misappropriation of pension funds, which resulted in the conviction of three employees. The PBC further investigated the cases of three employees involved in embezzlement. After investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team, the three employees involved in Khurbard were arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team. The proposed action was directed by the Federal Minister for Information Center Shibli Faraz. It was taken to maintain discipline at all costs in C and its aim is to eradicate all forms of corruption from the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) as per the corruption free agenda of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to sources, the accused are involved in embezzlement of crores of rupees in the agency and even more big names are likely to come to light after the FIA investigation.
