A nationwide lockdown has been imposed in Israel in response to rising cases of the second wave of the corona virus.
Following the announcement of the re-imposition of the lockdown, Israel has become the first country in the world to re-impose the lockdown at the national level. The lockdown, which will be implemented in the country from Friday, will continue for 3 weeks.
Yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a televised speech that "of course we all have to pay a heavy price for this move, but this decision must be made after more than 4,000 victims are exposed to the country every day."
The move by Prime Minister Netanyahu will also affect Jewish New Year's religious observances, prompting an Israeli minister to resign in protest.
It should be noted that under Judaism, their most sacred religious festival, Yom Kippur, is celebrated on September 27.
