Announcing a major crackdown on restaurants and wedding halls that violate SOPs

Commissioner Karachi has decided to close restaurants and wedding halls violating SOPs after a significant increase in cases of corona virus in the city.

A meeting of Deputy Commissioners, District Health Officers and officers of relevant departments was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Karachi Sohail Rajput. While briefing the Commissioner, it was informed that the number of Corona cases has increased rapidly in the last one week. Cases were reported while 365 cases were reported yesterday. The commissioner was informed that the highest number of cases in the country was reported in 60% in Karachi. Sohail Rajput directed to close restaurants and wedding halls violating SOPs. He said that action should be taken immediately and restaurants and wedding halls should be closed for at least 3 days for violation.

He directed the Deputy Commissioners to check all the restaurants and wedding halls in their respective districts. Participants also decided to increase corona testing in schools and close schools for violating SOPs. Commissioner Karachi said that action should be taken against violators of SOPs in industries. The industry report will be acted upon and all the Deputy Commissioners will submit the action report to the Commissioner by tonight.
