Agreement between Emirati, Israeli film companies, planning of regional film festival
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) surprised the world by making a historic decision to recognize Israel and establish bilateral relations with it.
The UAE took this astonishing step on August 15 and later on August 29, the UAE government revoked its boycott of Israel.
For the first time since the restoration of relations between the two countries, a plane flying over Israeli territory arrived in Abu Dhabi from Jerusalem on August 31.
Following the UAE's move, an agreement has now been reached between the two countries' film companies.
According to a joint statement issued today (September 21) by the British news agency Reuters, the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, the Israel Film Fund and the Jerusalem Sam Spiegel Film and Television School have signed an agreement for the training and production of the film. ۔
The agreement includes plans for an annual regional film festival in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and Israel.
Under the agreement, the two sides will hold training programs for filmmakers in both countries for several months, culminating in the Abu Dhabi-Israel Film and Television Co-Productions.
The statement said that for the first time, Emirati filmmakers will be represented in the International Film Lab and an UAE director will be invited to participate in the jury in the 2021 edition of the annual Film Lab Competition.
Earlier, an Israeli model arrived in the United Arab Emirates for the first time and had a photoshoot with a Russian model of Emirati origin.
