Two planes collided during a flight in the US state of Alaska, killing all seven people on board.

According to the British news agency Reuters, the incident took place in the municipal anchorage of the US state of Alaska, where two planes collided with each other. The dead included a Republican lawmaker who was flying a plane.

The other plane had four tourists, a pilot and a guide on board.

According to reports, no one on board the two planes survived the crash. Six people died on the spot while one died on the way to hospital.

The two planes took off from Soldonta Airport and collided in the air about 150 miles from the city of Anchorage. Evidence and samples are being collected from the scene.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, one of the crashed planes was a D-Hewland DHC2 Beaver.

Aviation authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
