Toshiba shuts down laptop business, what's the reason?

Japan's leading technology company Toshiba has officially announced that it will no longer make laptops and computers after selling all its shares.

According to a foreign news agency, in 2018, a Japanese company Sharp bought 80% shares of Toshiba company for the manufacture of computers and laptops for 36 million.

Toshiba has since issued a statement stating that Sharp has bought the remaining 20% ​​of Toshiba's shares.

Toshiba introduced its first T1100 laptop in 1985, which weighed 4 kg and had a 3.5-inch floppy disk.

Toshiba sold more than 17 million computers in 2011, but sales fell to 1.9 million in 2017.
