A bomb blast near the Lebanese capital, Beirut, has shaken the city.
According to international media reports, the blast was heard in remote areas of the city. The nature of the blast was not immediately known, but red clouds of smoke could be seen rising from the blast site.

The state news agency said a fire broke out in a warehouse near the port after the blast, and explosions were heard from time to time.

The blast was so horrific that it shattered the windows of several buildings and damaged surrounding infrastructure.
