Oracle is also ready to buy the US business of Tik Tok

Technology company Oracle has expressed interest in buying the US business of social media app Tik Tok.

According to a report in the Financial Times, Microsoft may face stiff competition in the form of Oracle in terms of taking control of the Chinese social media app.

According to the report, Oracle has also held preliminary talks with Byte Dance, a company owned by Tik Tok.

Oracle is seriously considering buying Tik Tok operations in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

On Friday, US President Donald Trump issued an executive order directing Byte Dance to sell its US business in 90 days.

Earlier, the US president issued an order banning bite dance and v-chat in the US, giving them a September 15 deadline to sell apps.

Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison is one of the few technology executives to publicly support Donald Trump, the Financial Times reported.

However, it is not clear whether Oracle will be preferred by the White House when it comes to Tik Tok sales.

The deal to buy parts of Tik Tok is legally complex, and so far Microsoft has been the front runner.

In addition to Microsoft, Twitter and Apple have expressed interest in buying US operations for Tik Tok

It should be noted that Microsoft is in talks with Bite Dance and the US administration to buy the US business of Tik Tok
