India's Independence Day, a black day for Kashmiris around the world.

 

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMC), on the occasion of India's Independence Day, Kashmiri people all over the world will hold demonstrations and rallies against India today while a complete strike has been declared in Occupied Kashmir. The Indian administration later imposed an unannounced curfew.

According to KMC, Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik, while announcing their protest against India today, said that India has no right to celebrate Republic Day in occupied Kashmir.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the occupying Indian authorities have tightened security in the name of security to prevent the impending protests in occupied Kashmir. Heavy contingents of Army and other security forces have been deployed in all other cities and areas including Srinagar.

A rally will be held in Azad Kashmir on the occasion of Black Day to express solidarity with the residents of Occupied Kashmir. It will be attended by leaders of Anjuman-e-Tajiran, lawyers and leading figures of civil society from all walks of life.
