An explosion in Abu Dhabi's Rashid Bin Saeed Street allegedly caused a gas leak, injuring several people, who were taken to hospital.
According to Arab media, according to the Abu Dhabi police, the emergency response team evacuated the occupants from the building and sealed off the area. Teams are still on the scene to ensure the safety of the people.
Police said in a statement that an explosion was reported at a restaurant in Operation Room on Monday morning, and the road in the area was temporarily closed to traffic. An eyewitness told Khaleej Times that the blast was so loud that the whole area resounded. I was driving when the incident happened. I was very scared. The entire restaurant and the ground floor were destroyed in the blast. Several vehicles were also damaged.
