Agreement reached with IPPs, cheaper electricity will benefit, Imran Khan

Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that in the beginning we were afraid that people would die from Corona and on the other hand we were afraid that people would die of starvation due to lockdown. Decided, thank God that the cases of Corona have come down and the economy has started going up, we have not won the war yet, we have to be careful, if you go to public places, put on face masks, it will spread the epidemic. Are less

"Our two years have been very difficult. When we got the government, there were very difficult situations. We could not pay the loan installments. We did not have foreign exchange. In the beginning, we were defaulting. The country should default," he said. So it has big bad effects, the arrival of dollars in the country decreases even more while the dollar becomes more expensive and the value of the rupee falls, inflation comes in the country, we have escaped from very bad inflation.

Imran Khan said that the conditions of the people are still difficult, the good news is that the situation is improving, our stock market has gone up, because the confidence of the people has started to increase, the main reason is our construction sector. Yes, when the construction industry starts to rise, then forty more industries start running.

The Prime Minister said that when we came to power, there were two major burdens on our government. The previous governments had to repay half of the Rs 2,000 billion in debt installments. He had to take more loans to run the country.

Imran Khan said that the second burden is expensive electricity, our industry could not compete with the industry of India and Bangladesh because electricity was cheap there. The previous government had signed power contracts, due to which our revolving loans were increasing. No shop can run if shopkeepers buy goods for ten rupees and sell for five rupees. We are buying electricity expensively and selling it cheaply. Therefore, negotiations were going on between the government and the IPPs. I would like to congratulate that this agreement was reached yesterday. It will reduce the cost of power generation, it will benefit our industry.

"Thank God our earnings have started to rise today, despite Corona our tax collection has exceeded the target, our imports have started to grow which is a welcome thing, our stock market has gone up," he said. Yes, cement sales have also gone up, things will get better in the future.

Imran Khan said that in the coming days we are trying to fix the power distribution network, reduce theft and line losses. Finally, I am trying to fix our brother and I want to send a message to the sisters that the whole country stands with you, the whole country realizes what kind of oppression and difficulties you are facing, our struggle will continue for you, we will pray to Allah that Allah will help you.
