Following the issue of fake licenses of pilots of Pakistan International Airlines, the well-known website "Airline Rating" has reduced the ranking of PIA to "1-star airline". Of the stars, only the one-star rating is very low, which could lead to many difficulties for the PIA.
According to the details, the editor-in-chief of the air ratings website, Joffrey Thomas, said that it is clear that the investigation into the bribery and forgery related to the pilot licenses is inevitable.
It may be recalled that last month, Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar, while presenting the preliminary investigation report of the plane crash in the National Assembly, had revealed that out of 434, the licenses of 150 PIA pilots were suspected to be fake. 150 pilots were immediately grounded.
Following these disturbing revelations, the UAE Civil Aviation Authority had approached Pakistan Aviation to verify the licenses of Pakistani pilots, engineers and flight operations officers working in the Gulf countries.
The European Union Air Safety Agency (EIAA) has suspended Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) 's air operations permit for European countries for six months. The future of the PIA is in question, while the jobs of hundreds of pilots who have obtained pilot's licenses from Pakistan and work for other domestic and international airlines besides PIA are also at stake.

Following in the footsteps of the European Union Air Safety Agency, the British Civil Aviation Authority has also suspended the PIA license.
