Explosion in Afghanistan, women and children killed
Kabul : The law and order situation in Afghanistan has not improved and bomb blasts continue in urban areas. The latest bombing killed six civilians, including women and children.
According to the Associated Press, the latest bombing took place in Afghanistan's Ghazni province, where a van full of passengers collided with a roadside bomb in Za Jagato. A spokesman for the provincial governor, Waheedullah, said eight civilians were also injured in the incident.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
A Taliban attack in the same province on Friday also targeted an Afghan checkpoint in Diak District, targeting the police chief and two of his bodyguards, according to Dawn News.
The Defense Ministry also said that Afghan troops repulsed Taliban attacks on military posts in the Azra district of eastern Logar Province on Friday.
The attack killed at least eight Taliban and wounded four others, the statement said.
It should be noted that after almost 19 years of fighting the Taliban, the United States is considering ways to achieve peace between Afghanistan, the US-backed government and the militant group occupying various parts of the country.
An agreement was reached between the United States and the Taliban on February 29 this year, which called for the withdrawal of US troops.
US officials and NATO said in late May that the number of US troops in Afghanistan was closer to 8,600 than previously agreed with the Taliban due to the spread of the corona virus.
Remember that since the signing of the agreement, the Taliban have been claiming victory over the United States.
